A design with more than one manufacturer
The official Panton archive dates Flowerpot to 1968. Its manufacturer history names Louis Poulsen, then Unique Interior in 2008–2011, and &Tradition from 2011. Today's manufacturer field therefore should not be read as the maker of every historical Flowerpot. [1]
Two facing hemispheres
The larger upper hemisphere has twice the diameter of the lower one. The smaller shade hides the bulb, while its inside acts as a reflecting surface. The archive describes enamelled metal in coloured versions and polished steel. Colour and reflection are part of the construction's effect, not merely a decorative skin applied to an unrelated shape. Flowerpot is a family; VP1 is a model
The official archive identifies VP1 as a 23 cm pendant. The family name alone is insufficient when recording dimensions: a table lamp or larger pendant can share the same two-shade principle while being a different object configuration. [2]
